Vevera Family Dental Expands Services to Include Laser and Sleep Apnea Treatment

COCOA BEACH, FL – September 17, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –

Vevera Family Dental, a general and cosmetic dental practice serving the Cocoa Beach area, now offers two treatment options not typically found together at a family dental practice: Light-Walker laser treatment and a custom-fitted oral appliance for snoring and sleep apnea. The pairing allows the practice to address two distinct patient needs, soft-tissue and restorative dental care on one hand and sleep-related breathing concerns on the other, without requiring a referral to a separate specialty office for either service.

The Light-Walker laser system supports a range of soft- and hard-tissue dental procedures, including gum-related treatment and other minimally invasive applications. The system works by delivering focused light energy at wavelengths tuned to target soft or hard tissue, allowing precise removal or reshaping of tissue with minimal bleeding and faster healing than traditional methods. Dr. Keith, the founding dentist of Vevera Family Dental, is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has completed continuing education in laser applications across multiple areas of dental care.

Separately, Dr. Vevera is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and has completed provider training through SomnoMed, a company that manufactures oral appliances for snoring and sleep apnea. The SomnoMed sleep appliance is fitted to hold the jaw in a position that helps keep the airway open during sleep, an option some patients pursue instead of, or alongside, a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine.

“Laser treatment and a fitted sleep appliance are usually associated with specialty offices, so patients are sometimes surprised to learn they are available through a general dental visit,” said Dr. Keith Vevera, DMD, the practice’s founding dentist. “Snoring and mild sleep apnea in particular often go unaddressed because people assume treatment requires a separate referral to a sleep clinic.”

Untreated sleep apnea and chronic snoring are widely associated with disrupted sleep and daytime fatigue, one reason dental sleep medicine has grown into a recognized area within general dentistry over the past decade. Laser dentistry has followed a similar path, moving from specialty clinics into general practice settings for gum-related care and as a less invasive alternative to some traditional procedures.

The practice’s team also includes Dr. John Sorgenfrei, a dentist whose work focuses on preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, along with patient education. “Part of what we try to do is make sure patients understand what options exist before a small issue becomes a larger one,” said Dr. John Sorgenfrei. “That applies as much to a nightly sleep appliance as it does to a routine filling.”

The practice’s broader range of services includes preventive care, restorative procedures such as crowns, bridges, and fillings, cosmetic treatment including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening, Invisalign clear aligners, and periodontal therapy for gum disease. The office also addresses jaw-related concerns such as TMJ disorder, which can sometimes overlap with the same soft-tissue or bite issues that lead a patient toward laser treatment or a sleep appliance evaluation in the first place.

Vevera Family Dental provides general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry for children, teens, and adults, including preventive care, therapy for patients interested in understanding periodontal disease, and Invisalign clear aligners in addition to the laser and sleep-appliance services described above. Based in Cocoa Beach, the practice serves patients from Cocoa, Merritt Island, Rockledge, Cape Canaveral, and surrounding Florida communities; patients can contact Vevera Family Dental to request an appointment. Dr. Vevera has practiced dentistry for more than two decades. Call (321) 236-6606 for more information.
