ExploreLearning | Learning A‑Z announced its new name ExploreK12, marking the next phase of its evolution as a unified organization serving educators across literacy, math, and science. The new identity reflects both the strength of its combined portfolio and its clear purpose: one rooted in helping educators unlock brighter futures for every student through practical, effective, and joyful learning experiences.
In today’s classrooms, teachers are asked to do more than ever, often navigating multiple systems and resources while working to keep learning aligned to students’ needs across subjects. ExploreK12 is focused on changing that.
This next phase of the company’s work is grounded in a simple idea: when educators can clearly see where every student is and what comes next for their learning, they can confidently help students develop deep understanding across multiple subjects, leading to lasting learning in and beyond the classroom.
“Educators are navigating more tools, data, and demands than ever,” said Aaron Ingold, ExploreK12 President. “ExploreK12 combines the strengths of ExploreLearning and Learning A-Z to equip teachers with literacy, math, and science solutions that address critical barriers to student success while sparking the joy of learning. We’re focused on simplifying the everyday work of teaching so educators can spend less time managing systems and more time supporting students. Meeting this moment requires an integrated, multi-subject approach that helps educators deliver practical, effective, and joyful learning experiences.”
Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, ExploreK12 is introducing a set of back‑to‑school enhancements that reflect this direction. The updates provide educators with a clearer picture of how well students are learning, making it easier to deliver the right support at the right time and help every student continue to grow.
Back-to-School Enhancements for 2026–27
Literacy
- Raz-Plus® Reading Growth Assessment: The new Reading Growth Assessment, powered by the Lexile® Framework for Reading, provides clear insight into student progress against grade‑level benchmarks. Administered three times per year in just 30 minutes, it delivers actionable growth data for teachers and leaders.
- Raz-Plus Reading Power Zone: The new Reading Power Zone turns independent reading into a motivating, self-paced experience that increases reading volume through choice, engagement, and rewards, as students progress through curated text sets organized by Lexile bands and knowledge topics. Together with Explore Zone, it offers developmentally appropriate self‑paced practice that builds foundational skills or boosts reading volume.
- Raz-Plus READY Routine™: The new READY Routine supports Response to Reading with a simple, memorable, and repeatable routine that helps students deepen comprehension through meaningful discussion and evidence-based writing. Integrated directly into Raz-Plus resources, it supports consistent classroom implementation without adding complexity.
- Raz-Plus Enhanced Resource Discovery: Improved discovery tools help educators quickly find and use Science of Reading-aligned resources, including book detail pages that surface streamlined lesson plans, the Response to Reading READY Routine, and expanded standards and core curriculum correlations.
Math
- Frax™ Fractions Content and Skills: New Frax missions address challenging upper elementary fraction concepts, including division with fractions and converting improper fractions to mixed numbers, using visual, exploratory learning that deepens conceptual understanding in areas where students often struggle most.
Science
- New Gizmos™ Investigations and STEM Cases: Gizmos expands topic coverage across its existing collections, giving educators more ways to engage students in real‑world science. New Investigations add guided, classroom‑ready lessons focused on scientific reasoning and sensemaking, while STEM Cases explore topics through applied, interactive problem‑solving scenarios.
Together, these releases build on ExploreK12’s established solutions while offering a look at what’s ahead: more connected and cohesive learning experiences that help educators seamlessly turn insight into action, support every student’s growth, and unlock brighter student futures in every classroom.
